— ICA is a Johannesburg-based practice that bridges Southern African local knowledge with Japanese partners through ethically-grounded learning, field research, and cultural co-creation. “Indaba” signals dialogic, consensus-centred practice; “Connect” signals facilitation and meaningful ties; “Africa” locates our practice in regionally rooted contexts. We design immersive learning journeys, community-led research, and collaborative art/craft projects that prioritise reciprocity and local authorship.

We design deep learning experiences and community-led research that centre local authorship and long-term reciprocity. Our work connects Southern African practice with Japanese contexts through ethical co-creation, artistic exchange and careful listening.

We centre grounded knowledge and co-creation. Through immersive, phenomenon-led learning and community-rooted research, we listen to the land and the people who live on it — then translate those insights into ethical programs, cultural projects and shared practice.
